Managing Failures

xs-2.png

Triggering a Failure Immediately

  1. Expand a category in the left panel
  2. Find the failure you want to activate and click it
  3. Click "Trigger Now" to apply it

Arming Conditional Failures

You can set up failures that trigger automatically based on flight conditions. To do so:

  1. Click the failure name to open its detail dialog
  2. Set conditions for:
    • Speed: Trigger below/at/above a specific airspeed (knots or Mach)
    • Altitude: Trigger below/at/above a specific altitude (feet or meters)
  3. Click "Save Changes"

Conditional failures are monitored continuously and will activate automatically when conditions are met.

Search & Filter

Use the search box at the top of the Control Bar to quickly find failures:

  • Type any keyword (e.g., "hydraulic", "engine", "electrical")
  • Matching failures are highlighted in real-time
  • Search across all categories simultaneously
  • Click the clear button () to reset the search

You do not need to have the MD-11 XS App open for failures to occur.

Clearing a Failure

You can clear a failure in two ways:

  1. Repair: You can detect and repair failures via inspection (see Maintenance & Servicing section)
  2. Manual Clear:
    • Click an active failure in the left panel
    • Click "Remove" on the following dialog to immediately clear it

Manually clearing a failure will not reset the component wear or any subsequent failures.
