Main Interface

The interface is divided into three main sections:
1. Failure Categories Panel (Left)
This scrollable panel organizes all available failures by aircraft system:
- Cockpit - Instrument and avionics failures
- Fuselage - Structural and cabin system failures
- Wings - Wing-related systems including hydraulics and fuel
- Engine 1, 2, 3 - Individual engine/engine-specific-system related failures
- Tail - Empennage and tail-mounted systems
Each category shows the available failures grouped by type (e.g., electrical, hydraulic, fuel).
2. Interactive Aircraft Diagram (Right)
An overhead view of the MD-11 with clickable hotspots:
- Hover over different areas to highlight them
- Click an area to jump directly to that failure category in the left panel
3. Control Bar (Bottom of Left Panel)
The control bar contains several important functions:
- Maintenance Status (Wrench Icon): Opens the routine maintenance page and allows control of aircraft maintenance status
- Mobile Interface (Phone Icon): Opens a QR code for accessing the failure interface on a mobile device
- Reveal Failure Status (Slider): Toggles visibility of active failures in the left panel
The failure status is off by default to simulate more realistic interactions with maintenance via the inspection process.
