Properly Repairing Failures
The preferred method for detecting and repairing failures is through the maintenance inspection system.
Inspection
Simulate a maintenance inspection:
- Ensure you're on the ground with engines off
- Click a region on the aircraft diagram or a heading in the left panel
- Click the Inspect button
- Wait for the inspection timer to complete
- View the inspection report showing all active failures in that area
Repairs
After inspecting an area, any active failures will be displayed.
- Click "Fix Now"
- Wait for the repair timer to complete
Repairs conducted via this system will reset component lifespan and wear for the repaired items.
Maintenance Logging
The application automatically logs maintenance activities to the Documents\TFDi Design\MD-11\Maintenance folder in a text file, including:
- Date and time of activity
- Activity type (inspection, repair, service)
- Aircraft registration
- Details of work performed
